Pikopiko

FOR AGES 0 – 2 YEARS

The Pikopiko room caters for children aged 6 months to 2 years. We have a maximum of 15 children. We have 6 Kaiako in our room -Cherie, Carly, Emma, Liné & Lucy. Adelle is our Team Leader for the under 3’s teams Pikopiko & Harakeke.

In the Pikopiko Room we view our infants and toddlers as capable and competent with a natural curiosity to figure out how the world works. We provide children with a safe, trusting and nurturing environment where they can learn, discover and reach new heights. Respect, care and aroha are at the core of our curriculum. Our key teacher relationships support our infants and toddlers in feeling safe and secure, a sense of tūrangawaewae.

Harakeke

FOR AGES 1.5 – 3.5 YEARS

The Harakeke Room caters for children aged 18 months to 3.5 years of age. We have a maximum of 24 children and we have 5 Kaiako Astral, Amber, Julie, Mel & Rosie with the Team Leader being Adelle.

In the Harakeke Room we believe that the voice of all children is vital to be heard, respected and advocated which is why we value whanaungatanga/relationships. We believe relationships are an essential part of in developing a sense of belonging where they feel safe and secure in their environment. Our Kaiako are here to establish relationships based on trust and reciprocity with tamariki, fostering their growing independence and inspire a love for learning. Respectful and meaningful care moments, transitions and learning journeys are enabled through our continuity of care and key teacher relationships.

Kāmata

FOR AGES 3 – 5 YEARS

The Kāmata Room caters for children aged 3yrs to 5yrs of age. It is staffed based on a ratio of 1 educator to 7 children and has a maximum of 38 children. We have 6 Kaiako Karemoana, Liam, Marie, Matt, & Rachel with the Team Leader being Trish.

Here in the Kāmata Room our Kaiako are fully present and work collaboratively to inquire, nurture and grow alongside each other. Being intentional and reflecting on everything we do creates a joyful place for our tamariki to flourish and shape their future. Unity between our Kaiako and whānau sets a foundation for quality learning and development.
